andfakethewayiholdyou asked: I had a transplant in December last year, it does feel very good to be able to eat what I want and actually be able to drink anything at all, that is the best thing about the transplant for sure!
My body just hates me, but it's cool, I've gotten used to it haha

What do you put in green smoothies? do they taste good? I'm no good at eating things I don't...

andfakethewayiholdyou asked: Yeah, if you mix them together it's like a magic food haha. It just tastes terrible! I hate cottage cheese so that doesn't help.

I need to add more fruit smoothies to my diet. I used to have them a lot, but when I was in renal failure my diet was so strict and I couldn't have any of that and even though I've been allowed off the diet for like 5 months I still...

andfakethewayiholdyou asked: Yeah, I guess it must help to actually be able to feel the benefits of it!
One of the things I'd have, the major part of it, was cottage cheese and flaxseed oil. It tastes so bad, but it's so good for you. I still try to have it as much as possible.

I do try to get bits of it into my every day diet and eat organic as much as possible. But I have a real weakness for...

andfakethewayiholdyou asked: I have to say I'm pretty much in awe of you for the fact you manage to keep up a raw food diet. Last year I spent a couple of weeks in this clinic in spain, and one of the main treatments was the budwig diet, I'm not sure if you've heard of it but I would assume you have, but it's based around a raw food diet. That, combined with all the other "alternative"...

My Recipes
I am sure you have noticed by now that I am not great on the precise amounts of ingredients to put into recipes. This is because I am not an avid follower of recipes and I never usually cook (or “uncook”in the case of raw food)  by following recipes although some are truly excellent. If I read a recipe at all, it usually has ingredients in it that are high histamine or that I otherwise...

Almond Milk
I have found that almonds are the best nuts for me being lower histamine than other nuts and slightly alkaline. I buy organic nuts where possible and from Europe as I understand from the internet that almonds are now banned in the USA and all almonds are pasteurised (cooked) before sale. (Please someone correct me if I am wrong  - this was the talk of the raw food websites for ages). By the way...

nichtraunzen asked: hello,
do you drink soy milk and or eat other soy products?
i've heard very conflicting views on soy and histamine intolerance. as i have never really tried soy i don't know if it can be an alternative for cow milk for me or if it will make everything worse. thanks for your time, it is much appreciated!

Discipline is just choosing between what you want...
This is true for me. What I want most is my health…. If I eat well then I am pain free and feel good .. if I eat what I suddenly fancy …. it can be a different story! Still that is life! Just have to take each day as it comes and I do not berate myself for getting it wrong occasionally! - The Reluctant Rawfoodist

Giving Up Sugar
I have been asked how I changed my diet. I changed slowly one thing at a time, substituting healthier foods for the more unhealthy foods. The very first thing I did was give up products containing sugar. i had not realised how addicted I was to it until I tried to stop. Had you asked me I would have said that I did not eat many sugary products, but I must have done. Biscuits, cakes, sweets etc...
